Sprint To Launch OTA Downloads Today
October 31st, 2005 | by amarfresh |According to The Mobile Music Blog Sprint will offer full-track mobile music dowloads today via the Sprint Music Store. The downloads will be for phone and PC and only cost $2.50 per track! Eeew. That’s gonna throw off the ringtone truetone market…

Truetone @ $2.99/song = $.099/second
Full Track @ $2.50/song = $.014/second
Wow! 10c vs 1c per second of music. I guess the 9c difference accounts for the cropped music, lowered audio quality, and ability to have you (and everyone else hear) it ring. Makes sense.
This may sound like a ridiculous concept, but hopefully someday Sprint will allow the phones to use the full-track downloads as ringtones. Other than the fact that it makes sense and the consumer wants it, I would think that Sprint has no incentive allow such a ridiculousness.
BTW, Sprint is offering 5 free song downloads for the first 30 days after registering with them.
