xMax - wireless voodoo?
November 9th, 2005 | by amarfresh |xMax, what is it?
Frankly, not many people know. What I know is that it proves to be the WiFi, WiMax, DSL, and cell phone killer. Using standard 900mhz technology (like your home cordless phone), a low power antenna, and cheap parts, xMax can transmit data up to 20 miles at 3.7Mbps!
The journalists who saw the demonstration saw high bandwidth data travel 18 miles, and are pretty convinced Bobier “has something.” As one put it: “If you put a gun to my head and said which way would I bet, I’d say they have got a genuine innovation.”
Quick, someone buy up the technology and bury it. Verizon, Cingular, Sprint? Anyone?
We may yet have free broadband before long!

I myself have been following this thing on my blog, originally reading it from slashdot.
I’m not too sure wheter it is as good as what it claims and neither are many others. Once xG get their patent i’m sure some smart people will figure it out and tell me so I can get my money invested promptly - just like I should have with google ;)
