A Ringtone for 30-somethings (and older)

November 30th, 2005 | by amarfresh |

Perhaps coming to an “adult” cell phone near you.

Nowadays you can’t walk down the street without hearing a custom ringtone. Teens especially; and they have the ringtones which are most annoying. A post at BoingBoing. A UK inventor developed a device which can emit an annoying sound which apparently only teenagers can hear.

The device, called the Mosquito (”It’s small and annoying,” Mr. Stapleton said), emits a high-frequency pulsing sound that, he says, can be heard by most people younger than 20 and almost no one older than 30. The sound is designed to so irritate young people that after several minutes, they cannot stand it and go away.

Designed with the intent of flushing kids away from storefronts, I think it should also be incorporated into cell phones. The ultimate rude tone.

Payback time.
