Here’s my fave:
4. Popular ringtones can be extremely annoying and avoiding their use is an act that will be appreciated by the whole of humankind. In fact, even the tune producers, like the company behind Crazy Frog, know that their ringtones can be annoying, but someone is paying for those tunes. There are people who get irritated when they hear the factory-set tune on Nokia phones, so it is impossible for you to know what’s annoying to other people and what isn’t.
If you absolutely must have a loud and nerve-wrecking ringtone, you might consider using it at home and another, clever ringtone that expresses your personality in other places. For example, you could create ringtones by recording sounds from TV, radio, or from the local supermarket. They certainly are individual tunes and more recognizable than a ringtone buzzing on millions of other phones.
