ZoneTag: GeoLocation, Mobile Cameraphoning and Flickr
March 22nd, 2006 | by amarfresh |I have a feeling that this ZoneTag project is related to the Merkitys-Meaning application which allows Symbian users to geo-tag and upload to Flickr.
ZoneTag, from Yahoo, appears to do the same.
The application uploads images from your mobile phone to Flickr and automatically tags them with the location, based on the cell tower nearest you.

Well, yes and no. The Yahoo labs people have worked with us before and there has been a healthy amount of cross-pollination between the projects. ZoneTag’s codebase, however, is their own work.
