Standards Nosedive at Guinness World Records
November 8th, 2006 | by Roonil Wazlib |
Boy, oh boy, is it ever easy to become a Guinness World Record holder! Nowadays you don’t even have to break a previous record to get in the book — just do something totally stupid, something a reasonable mind would never conceive, and you’re good as gold, viz:
A company called The Phone House in Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, dressed up 150 high school (?) college (?) elementary school (?) students as cell phones, and loosed them on the streets of the city.
That’s it.
No, they didn’t build the tallest costumed-human pyramid or break the record for the longest conga line — they simply walked for a predetermined, although not record-breaking, distance, waving their arms crazily (if the picture is any indication), and then getting shouted down by motorists when they wandered into a thoroughfare.
So, you’re saying all I need to do is dress 151 yahoos as cell phones..?
