Better Living Through Battery Conservation

I’m not ashamed to admit I require a refresher course in common sense now and again. Cell phone manufacturers tout each latest model as possessing a month’s runtime on a single charge, and I’m dumb enough to believe it. So, here’s some forehead-smackingly smart tips to squeeze more juice out of your cell’s battery:
1. Turn off Bluetooth
Apparently Bluetooth is the most power-hungry app a cell phone has. Who knew?
2. Disable sounds, vibrating ringer
Does your keypad really need to beep? Also, create a ‘profile’ for use at the opera house or funerals that makes the phone vibrate; all other times let it ring!
3. Lower screen brightness
Makes sense, no?
4. Set the display’s power saver/screensaver to lowest value
Unless you use your screen as a flashlight there’s no reason to keep the display on after completing a call.
5. Turn off all unused applications
Non-power-users would be aghast — aghast! — to know what’s been running on their phone since they day they activated it.
6. Don’t play games so much
And you thought the battery in your PSP was bad?
