BroadVoice is planning on releasing a WiFi phone which also can access the GSM network. T-Mobile and Verizon already offer smartphones with WiFi capability, however they aren't necessarily designed for VoIP applications. It looks like a cellphone, it shounds like a cell phone, but it only works where there is a WiFi signal. (Hopefully everywhere someday.)

Thought I would share the two significant posts from Gizmodo. The first is Skype running on a Series 60 Nokia (without a PC). The other is an announcement from Microsoft touting a Skype-like service for WindowsMobile.

Since November, Google has provided free WiFi to the citizens and visitors of Mountain View, California. They now have their eyes on San Francisco and equipment makers Motorola, Nintendo, Sony, Seimens (more) have their eyes on Google.
